Privacy and cookie policy

Last updated: 9 June 2026

This site, andy-chadwick.com, is run by Andy Chadwick. I keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the site and reply to people who get in touch. This page explains what is collected, why, who helps process it, and what cookies are set. For anything here, you can reach me at hello@andy-chadwick.com.

Who is responsible for your data

Andy Chadwick is the data controller for this website. Contact: hello@andy-chadwick.com.

What I collect, and why

  • When you use the contact form. Your name, email address, what you would like to talk about, your message, and optionally a budget and timeline. I use this only to read your enquiry and reply to it.
  • When you book a call. The booking link sends you to TidyCal, where you enter your details to schedule a time. That happens on TidyCal, under its own privacy policy.
  • Basic technical data. Like any website, my host (Cloudflare) processes standard request data such as your IP address and browser type to serve pages, keep the site secure, and block abuse.
  • Analytics. I use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-first: it does not use cookies, does not fingerprint you, and does not track you across other sites. It only gives me aggregate figures like page views and rough referrers.

Legal basis

Under UK GDPR, I rely on legitimate interests to reply to enquiries you choose to send me, and to keep the site secure and working. Where the law requires consent, for example for any non-essential cookies, I ask for it.

Who processes data on my behalf

I use a small number of trusted providers, each with their own privacy terms:

  • Cloudflare, for hosting, security and cookieless analytics.
  • Web3Forms, which delivers contact-form submissions to my inbox.
  • hCaptcha, which protects the contact form from spam and bots.
  • Google Workspace, which I use for email, including replies to your enquiry.
  • TidyCal, if you book a call through the booking link.

Cookies

This site uses very few cookies, and none for advertising or cross-site tracking.

  • Essential. Cloudflare may set a security cookie (such as one used to tell humans from bots). It is needed for the site to work safely.
  • Spam protection. On the contact page, hCaptcha may set cookies as part of checking you are human when you submit the form.
  • Analytics. Cloudflare Web Analytics sets no cookies at all.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the essential and spam-protection cookies may stop the contact form working.

How long I keep it

I keep contact enquiries for as long as I need them to reply and to keep a sensible record of who I have spoken with, then delete them. Aggregate analytics carries no personal data.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask me to give you a copy of your data, correct it, or delete it, and you can object to how I use it. Email hello@andy-chadwick.com and I will sort it. If you are not happy with how I handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Other sites

Where I link out, for example to my businesses, to booking, or to articles, those sites have their own privacy policies and I am not responsible for them.

Changes

If this policy changes, I will update it here and change the date at the top.
